Het is een echte Nederlandse zomer, van puffen in een hittegolf naar regenachtige weken. Zelfs midden in de zomer is het fijn om je balkon aan te passen.

Ik kies er graag voor om planten te gebruiken die misschien niet wintergroen, maar winterhard zijn. Zodat je in de lente dan hopelijk opnieuw van ze kunt genieten.

Een van mijn favorieten is de Ooievaarsbek geranium. Daar heb ik verschillende soorten van op mijn eigen balkon staan te stralen.

This is my busy time, and i am loving it!
Changing balconies into lovely places to spend time. But, this does mean i neglect my social media terribly. Thing is, i am a one person business, so i have to do all the planning, shopping, communication, building, research, accounting, troubleshooting myself. Plus give myself a good work/life balance to i can keep delivering to my clients.

The thing that i drop first is writing posts, but i will try to make some time for that and share some of the lovely balconies i’ve created!

In my own home and for clients with pets, i try to use safe plants wherever i can. Which also means, plants thave not been doused in pesticides, sustainable and non toxis fertilizer, plus adding plants they can enjoy!

1st day of March, restaurants in Amsterdam can spread out their ‘summer terrace’ again. Yesterday i spend most of my day lugging heavy plantboxes, mean while planning what to plant. For 4850 i use a lot of things that can be used in the kitchen, Oxalis, Marigolds, Nasturtium, mixed in with things that are just nice to look at.

Today, i am feeling the heavy lifting but also the itch to get going with my own balcony. So ignoring my sore muscles and start with sanding and oiling my balcony floor!

i did not start out being good with plants.... not that long ago i almost killed a snake plant! But i kept it, because of memories, gave it time, light, plant food and now it is shining in my newly painted room.

It is not just us humans enjoying this extra room, also our cats love spending time here. I do make sure there ara plenty of spaces they can nap, spy on the neighbours and enjoy some cool shade.
The sofa is also very loved, they think of it as a huge cat bed. <

On the bench i have plants behind me, in front of me in an outdooor cupboard from metal, and in the the distance there is a grapevine climbing. I love working with big variation in plants and where you place them.

A personal favourite is the Cranesbill Geranium. Whenever i come across a new variant and it can be squeezed in, i bring it home. >
